Bernalillo

Located just 17 miles northeast of Albuquerque off Interstate 25, Bernalillo retains its own identity and friendly small town atmosphere.  It is a historically significant town in the state’s long history, known as the City of Coronado, the place where Coronado and his Spanish explorers wintered in the 1540s

And it was here that the wine grape was introduced into this area of New Mexico by the Spanish in 1620.  Today, Bernalillo is host to the New Mexico Wine Festival, the premier event of its kind in the state.
